This training is bookable both part-time on weekends, as well as during the week. By selecting the appropriate group, you decide your attendance dates. Choose the optimal variant for you and focus on your success! Each course can be booked individually and lasts two semesters. However, both courses can also be attended simultaneously and thus completed within one year.

Target group: Dedicated amateurs, aspiring professional photographers and professional photographers who want to systematize and expand their knowledge and skills.

Course duration: 2 semesters / 6 days (or 10 evenings) per semester.

If you register for two courses at the same time (DFO and FDS), the price is lower than if you book them individually. This is only possible with simultaneous enrollment in two courses (DFO+FDS). No additional costs (models, make-up artist, course materials, etc.) will be charged. Expenses for exposures, photo prints and portfolio folders are not included in the course price. In the course of the training you will make a portfolio folder, which remains your property.

The digital photography course lasts two semesters and is offered at the LIK Academy for Photography and Design locations in Linz, Graz and Vienna. The course begins in February/March or September/October. In July, the intensive course can be attended as part of the LIK Summer Academy for Photography.

The digital photography course is offered either as a part-time course on weekends or as a day course on weekdays. You yourself decide for a group of your choice and thus for the attendance dates of the respective group which can be found under dates.

The course days listed (see dates) are compulsory events, plus voluntary image discussion dates and free LIK Wednesday Selections. The practical assignments as homework are compulsory.

The first semester forms the basis for a solid professional education. Learning and understanding photography is the starting point for creative work. From collection to sequence to conceptual work. Perfect know how saves uncertainties and "try and error" approach. This is also where the first part of the personal portfolio portfolio is created.

The obligatory second semester leaves more room for independent photographic solutions. The content of the second semester is based on the classic subject areas of photography. Of course, the ongoing technical developments in photography are also taken into account in the LIK course. The final LIK Academy of Photography and Design final exam and the resulting professional portfolio form the basis for the assessment of performance and the photography diploma.

SEMESTER 1: (DFO stands for digital photography).

DFO 1: Shooting technique, gathering with the camera, outdoor portrait, the pillars of digital photography, conscious use of focal length and perspective, movement in photography, playing with focus, light mood and horizon in landscape photography, frame & moment.

DFO 2: Image Design. School of vision 1 (SW) - visual language / visual communication - levels. Elements of design / pictorial means / categories, composition and form. Arrangement of shapes and structures, etc., learning to see, arrange and use lines to achieve a desired image statement. Image Analysis. Depicting emotions, expressive photography. Image review.

DFO 3: The technique of studio flash and studio light, light control and light shapers in the photo studio, exposure metering, classic portrait light, from ID photo to classic portrait, light control and representation of spatiality, Rembrandt and Marlene Dietrich in photography.

DFO 4: Fundamentals of Reportage Photography &Street Photography in Practice, System Flash in Outdoor Use, Narrative Photography 1, Practical Tips from the Press Professional. SEMESTER 2:

DFO 7: Image Design. School of vision 2, design elements / pictorial means / form - continuation, color. Design laws, design rules, basic principles of design. Light effects, conscious use of moods. Plasticity and materiality. Experimental photography (pinhole, infrared, Lensbaby), creativity training "Kitchen Photography". "momentum" - the power of the moment.

DFO 8: Fashion Photography, Fashion photography conception and trends, Editorial, The "Joy of Photography Shoot", Creating a LIK student magazine cover, Shooting on location, Portable Light.

DFO 9: Product Photography Professional. Shooting by layout, commercial photo, tabletop, lighting and product set up, flash meets lightbrush, jewelry and macro, getting fabrics and surfaces color correct.

DFO 10: Architectural photography, bokeh panorama, room design indoor sedcard, available light, professional tips on how to complete a job, experiences of the professional photographer.

DFO 11: Portfolio review, The black and white character portrait, The creative portrait. (Camera, fast lenses, all assignments on USB stick).

DFO 12: Portfolio review, photographic illustration, written exam.

Duration: 2 semesters, approx. 30 weeks / 448 teaching units. Course DFO can be attended simultaneously with the Digital Imaging course.
